UK chain Debenhams launches duty free beauty in stores, online

RBR Staff Writer Published 20 June 2012

British department store chain Debenhams is offering duty free prices on hundreds of cosmetics, fragrances and skincare products. Customers can avail deals in store, online and via phone apps.

The latest move of the retailer, which is aimed at bringing holiday glamor to the UK, will increase competition as Debenhams is expected to be cheaper than its rivals.

Debenhams beauty director Sara Stern said that with these deals, customers no longer need to leave Europe to cash in on duty free cosmetics and fragrance.

"You can nip down to your local Debenhams or order from the comfort of your own home. We're giving people the best of both worlds - top beauty brands at airport prices," Stern added.

"From fragrance to foundation and self tan to skin care, we've reduced a huge range of beauty products meaning people can save money on must-have essentials and treat themselves to something special at the same time."

Cosmetic houses such as Benefit, Estee Lauder, Lancôme, YSL, Clinique, Clarins, Elemis, Guerlain, Elizabeth Arden and Marc Jacobs are covered in the deals.

The retail chain said Extra benefits can be gained with the Debenhams Beauty Club Reward Card.
