RBR Staff Writer Published 09 January 2013

US retail major Target unveiled a new Price Match Policy to offers its consumers, both online and offline, the best prices and it comes into effect immediately.

The retailer will match prices with its competitors, including Amazon.com, Walmart.com, BestBuy.com and Toysrus.com, all year round.

The policy allows consumers purchasing a qualifying item from the retailer to seek a price match if they realize that the purchased product available for less on any of the competitors' sites or on Target.com within seven days of the purchase.

Commenting on the new initiative Target chairman, president and CEO Gregg Steinhafel remarked that the retailer wanted to instill confidence in consumers that they were getting the best value at Target.

"We know that our guests often compare prices online.

"With our new Price Match Policy and the additional five percent savings guests receive when they use their REDcard, Target provides an unbeatable value," Steinhafel elaborated.

Target's first price match policy called the Low Price Promise was unveiled back in 2009.
