LoFt has received the transfer of rights of MoMA's Retail business in Japan, as well as its business assets, from the former owner, Shaddy Ltd., on February 1st, 2016.
With its license agreement with The Museum of Modern Art (an educational institution dedicated to being the foremost museum of modern art in the world), LoFt has exclusive use of MoMA's assets in Japan, such as the Brand Logo, Store Designs, Product Selection, as well as its product development and opening its new stores.
To improve its brand values in Japan, LoFt has made a decision to open 2 new MoMA DESIGN STORE Shop-in-Shops, as a part of MoMA's retail business in Japan.

In addition to these Shop-in-Shops, LoFt will expand MoMA's business in Japan, from an Omni-channel point of view, including the E-Commerce and Wholesale market as well as product development within its expansion plan.
