Harrods opens new distribution center in Berkshire to serve UK market

British up market department store Harrods has unveiled a new distribution center in Berkshire to solely serve the UK market.

The Mill Lane, Thatcham center is expected to sustain the company's growth and support its online orders, reported the BBC.

Commenting on the opening Harrods distribution and supply chain director Dawson Parker remarked that the site was zeroed in after a exhaustive search.

"We need those in order to go into Knightsbridge to our main store and also to our popular airport locations.

"Thatcham also has a great reputation for an outstanding workforce and we were delighted to be able to tap into that," elaborated Parker.

The distribution center will create 100 new jobs for the locals.
