American retailer Kroger to open two stores in US

US-based retail chain Kroger plans to unveil a new gas station in Michigan besides a renovated store in West Virginia, US.

The new gas station will focus on gasoline sales to be located at 1771 E, Ypsilanti Township, Michigan will ofer customers ten pumps besides a 100ft² kiosk to retail few items.

Kroger expects to open the new gas station by the end of 2012.

The retailer's Ashton place store at West Virginia will undergo a $9.6m expansion and renovation to expand the floral, produce, deli, frozen food and bakery departments, reported Charleston Daily Mail.

The store's existing pharmacy department could also be moved to another location to aide the renovation that is expected to be completed in five months after construction begins.

Kroger, based in Cincinnati, Ohio, operates 789 convenience stores and more than 1,109 supermarket fuel centers in 31 states of the US besides 1,948 pharmacies, 337 jewelry stores.
